Lil Durk's Prosecutors Seek Grand Jury Testimony Release Ahead of Trial

Federal prosecutors in Los Angeles filed a motion on July 2 requesting that grand jury testimony be released to Lil Durk’s defense team before his upcoming federal trial. Durk’s lawyers did not object, and the request relies on the Jencks Act, which permits disclosure of grand‑jury material once a case is headed to trial.

The motion comes as prosecutors have added a third superseding indictment that expands the case to include racketeering and stalking‑conspiracy charges alongside the original murder‑for‑hire allegation tied to the 2022 killing of Saviay’a Robinson. Durk’s attorneys have described the new charges as “lipstick on a pig” and are seeking to have them split from the original case or dismissed entirely, with a hearing set for July 27. Durk remains in custody, has pleaded not guilty to all counts, and faces a potential life sentence if convicted on the top charge.
