Lil Wayne announces engagement to Madi Cannon

Rapper Lil Wayne has announced his engagement to Madi Cannon, 23, months after publicly stating that the pair had split. The announcement was made during a video message intended to congratulate fellow Hot Boys member B. G. on his engagement to Brooke Jones.

In the video, Wayne introduced Cannon as his fiancée, stating, “And I’m marrying this one. This is Madison. This is my fiancée.” He also jokingly offered to serve as the best man for B. G.’s upcoming wedding.

The news marks a significant reversal from July, when Wayne addressed engagement rumors during a livestream, denying he was engaged and explaining that he and Cannon had decided to part ways to avoid placing a burden on her due to public scrutiny. It remains unclear whether the couple reconciled before or after a previous reported engagement, but the video confirms their current status as engaged.
