Lila Downs to perform Día de Muertos concert at Auditorio Nacional

Mexican singer, composer, and anthropologist Lila Downs is preparing for a special performance at the Auditorio Nacional on November 1 to celebrate Día de Muertos. The concert will feature music from her latest production, ‘Cambias mi mundo’, alongside songs from her career. Downs noted that the event is designed as a ritual to honor ancestors and celebrate Mexican identity.

The performance will include guest musicians, such as Mariana Seoane, who will perform cumbia ranchera. During a recent press conference, Downs also discussed her musical evolution, expressing openness to contemporary genres like reggaeton and the possibility of collaborating with new artists like Cachirula. She emphasized the importance of women using music to express sexuality and reclaim their voices.
