Lili Anna Vindics-Tóth wins silver in women's marathon at European Championships
Lili Anna Vindics-Tóth secured the silver medal in the women's marathon at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. The 27-year-old Hungarian athlete achieved a personal best time of 2:27:21.
Finnish runner Alisa Vainio won the gold medal with a time of 2:22:26, maintaining a significant lead throughout the race. Hungarian runner Nóra Szabó finished in fourth place with a time of 2:27:39, narrowly missing the podium.
Vindics-Tóth's achievement marks the first time a Hungarian marathoner has medaled at the European Championships since Gyula Tóth in 1966.
