Lili Estefan and Raúl de Molina clash on “El Gordo y la Flaca”

Hosts Lili Estefan and Raúl de Molina experienced a tense disagreement during a broadcast of “El Gordo y la Flaca” regarding the relevance of beauty pageants.

Estefan defended beauty contests, arguing they serve as vital professional platforms for women in the entertainment industry. She noted that major networks like Univision and Telemundo are filled with successful presenters and actresses who began their careers as pageant winners.

De Molina countered by suggesting that many people, including many women, view such events as outdated or disrespectful. The exchange escalated beyond the topic of pageants, with de Molina alleging a double standard regarding his freedom to express opinions compared to his co-host. Estefan expressed frustration with the difficulty of hosting the show following the exchange.
