Lilia Lemoine criticizes government intervention in family debt

Argentine National Deputy Lilia Lemoine of La Libertad Avanza has criticized recent legislative discussions regarding family debt relief. Speaking on the special session in the Chamber of Deputies, Lemoine argued that government intervention in private debt is inappropriate.

Lemoine stated that state-led debt rescue efforts primarily benefit financial institutions rather than individuals. She argued that banks should be responsible for refinancing debts and providing appropriate credit terms. Furthermore, she noted that the issue is exacerbated by a lack of financial education in schools, suggesting that those who took out loans often do so without full understanding.
