Liliana Cavani receives Career Award at Lucca Film Festival

During the 22nd Lucca Film Festival, director Liliana Cavani was honored with a Career Award. During her presentation, Cavani discussed her works regarding Saint Francis of Assisi, describing the figure as “extraordinarily modern” and a symbol of peace who rejected the cruelty of war.

The festival program includes several other major recognitions, such as the Golden Panther Award for director Nicolas Winding Refn and a Career Award for Nanni Moretti. Additionally, actress Donatella Finocchiaro is set to receive the Outstanding Woman in Film Award.

The event also features the Lucca Film Festival for Future, a competition for international young filmmakers focused on environmental and social challenges, supported by the Sofidel Group.
