Lille and Reims lead French cities in employee productivity rankings

An Adobe Acrobat study involving 350 French business leaders has ranked French cities by perceived employee productivity. The ranking is based on a “relaxation index” measuring productivity declines, lack of regularity, and procrastination.

Lille ranks first with the lowest relaxation index of 6.7%. Reims follows in second place with an index of 11%, where only one in ten leaders identifies procrastination as a negative factor. Marseille holds third place with an index of 12.7%. In contrast, Paris ranks lowest among the top ten cities with an index of 19.3%, with 32% of Parisian leaders citing high competitive pressure as a major source of distraction.

Nationally, the study found that 18% of leaders observed a drop in productivity due to employee relaxation over the last year, while 15% noted procrastination as a significant issue. To address these challenges, 44% of French executives are focusing on flexibility and respect for rest periods, while 43% are prioritizing the development of trust-based teams.
