Lille: Man critically injured after falling from lamppost during Braderie

A 23-year-old man was critically injured during the Braderie de Lille on Saturday, September 5. The individual fell after climbing a lamppost at Place Louise-de-Bettignies in Vieux-Lille. Emergency services responded to the scene around 9:40 PM, and the victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

The Prefecture of Nord reported a significant mobilization for the event, involving 1,700 personnel, including police, military, gendarmes, and firefighters. During safety inspections of 132 stands and restaurants, authorities removed and destroyed 230 kg of various food items. A total of 82 people were treated for various issues during the festivities.
