Lille OSC achieves 120 million euro transfer surplus

Lille OSC president and sporting director Olivier Létang has overseen a highly successful summer transfer window, resulting in a net transfer surplus exceeding 120 million euros. The club's financial strength was driven by major sales, most notably the 100 million euro transfer of Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi to Manchester City and the 60 million euro sale of Matias Fernandez-Pardo to Newcastle United.

While many French clubs faced pressure to sell players to maintain financial stability, Lille managed to secure significant revenue while keeping new signings, such as forward Ayase Ueda, at relatively modest costs. This financial turnaround follows Létang's efforts to stabilize the club after inheriting approximately 400 million euros in debt in late 2020.
