Lille OSC blocks striker Matias Fernandez‑Pardo's transfer request

Lille OSC president Olivier Létang announced that the club will not entertain any bids for young forward Matias Fernandez‑Pardo, who submitted a transfer request this summer. Létang stressed that Fernandez‑Pardo is under contract until 2029 and that Lille will reject all inquiries, including interest from Premier League clubs Liverpool and Arsenal.

The 21‑year‑old Argentine, signed from Belgian side Gent, has recorded 12 goals and 11 assists in 71 appearances for Lille. Despite his wish to move, the French side intends to keep him as a key attacking option while managing squad injuries and upcoming Ligue 1 and European fixtures.
