Lilt Milano inaugurates eighth Casa del Cuore for pediatric oncology families

Lilt Milano has inaugurated its eighth ‘Casa del Cuore’ in Milan, a residential space designed to support families of children undergoing treatment at the pediatric oncology department of the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori. Located on Viale Romagna, the apartment can accommodate up to four people, providing a vital resource for families traveling from other regions or abroad who must relocate to be near their children during medical care.

The new facility was made available by Aler Milano at a negotiated rate and was renovated using funds raised from the ‘Pigiama Run 2025’, with support from Esselunga and BASF. This latest opening brings the total number of Lilt Milano’s ‘Casa del Cuore’ structures near the institute to eight, providing a combined 30 beds for families.

The ‘Pigiama Run’ is an annual non-competitive race and walk held across more than 35 Italian centers. The initiative raises funds through registrations and donations to finance essential services, including psychological support for patients and families, protected medical transfers, housing assistance, and recreational activities within hospital wards.
