Celebrities Lily Allen and Megan Fox are increasingly seeking to monetize their sexualized public images on their own terms. Lily Allen has launched a curated collection of pleasure products with Lovehoney, titled ‘Love, Lily’. The collection includes a polka-dot butt plug, which serves as a physical successor to a previously released limited-edition USB inspired by her album lyrics.

Allen stated that her involvement is motivated by a desire to promote confidence in discussing desire and pleasure, noting that she previously felt like a ‘vehicle for male pleasure’. Similarly, Megan Fox has launched a presence on the content platform Subs.com. Fox expressed a desire to reclaim ownership of her image, stating, ‘Women have spent decades being told that visibility is power while someone else owns the platform, the audience or the image.’
