Lim River pollution: Unknown liquid discharged near Bijelo Polje

The non-governmental organization Euromost has reported a new environmental incident on the Lim River in the village of Pruska, near Bijelo Polje. According to the organization, a large quantity of an unknown white liquid is being discharged directly into the river through a pipe.

Euromost expressed serious concern regarding the potential impact on water quality, aquatic life, and the entire river ecosystem. The organization noted that the current low water level of the Lim increases the risk, as uncontrolled discharge of unknown chemical substances could have more severe consequences.

Recalling a major fish kill that occurred in the river in 2019, Euromost is calling for an urgent response from local and state authorities. They are demanding that the origin of the liquid be identified immediately, that sampling and laboratory analysis be conducted, and that responsibility for the incident be established. The organization stated it will monitor the river daily and file legal reports against any individuals or entities found to be illegally discharging waste.
