Youth-focused cultural and educational events held across Latin America
Various regional governments and institutions are hosting cultural and educational events focused on youth engagement and development.
In Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, the first ‘Fuego Geek’ convention is being organized by the Ministry of Citizen Welfare and Justice. The event will feature anime, comics, K-pop, cosplay, and video games to provide a dedicated space for local youth interests.
In Salto, Uruguay, the government is concluding ‘Youth Month’ with a large-scale event at Plaza Treinta y Tres Orientales. The closing ceremony includes musical performances from local rock and rap winners, dance academies, and theater productions.
In Santiago del Estero, Argentina, the ‘Expo Joven 2026’ was held at Plaza Libertad. The exhibition connected young people with educational institutions, technology sectors, and entrepreneurship programs, including robotics and the ‘Santiago crece con vos’ initiative.
In Loja, Ecuador, the ‘Jóvenes que deciden, sueños que transforman’ cultural festival was held to promote the prevention of adolescent pregnancy. The event utilized music, dance, and informative stands to discuss sexual rights and reproductive health during the Andean Week for the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy.
