Organisers highlighted the event’s role in promoting Peru’s biodiversity, culinary heritage and tourism, noting that gastronomic travel is among the top motivations for international visitors.

The selection follows Peru’s recent success on the global stage, with Maido named World’s Best Restaurant in 2025 and Central winning the top spot in 2023.
