Lima Convention Center awarded to GL Events for 15-year operation
The Lima Convention Center (LCC) will transition to private management for the first time since its 2015 inauguration. The Peruvian investment promotion agency, Proinversión, has awarded the operation and maintenance project to GL Events Venues for a 15-year period.
Under a public-private partnership (PPP), the contract includes the operation, commercial exploitation, programming, and promotion of events at the facility. The project involves an estimated investment of approximately US$104.7 million over the duration of the contract. The goal of this transition is to increase the utilization of the infrastructure and attract more national and international congresses and large-scale events.
Located in the San Borja district, the center features 18 multifunctional rooms across eight levels and has the capacity to host approximately 10,000 people simultaneously. While the facility remains public property under the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, its management and commercial activities will be handled by the private operator.
