LIMA exhibition may move to larger sites to remain competitive

Defense Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has suggested that the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) may need to move to a larger location to remain competitive. He noted that the current site in Langkawi may lack the necessary space and international-standard facilities to accommodate growing participation.

To counter increasing competition from regional defense exhibitions in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand, the Minister emphasized the need for drastic improvements in infrastructure and site capacity. He mentioned that if Langkawi can no longer support the scale of the event, alternative locations such as Klebang in Melaka could be considered for future hosting to ensure the exhibition remains relevant on a global stage.
