Lima hosts new 'Circo Místico' circus and moves 2026 International Book Fair
From 25 June to 30 August 2026, the production “Circo Místico: Cóndor” will stage a modern circus on the Explanada Costa Verde in San Miguel, Lima. Backed by Ángeles Espectáculos, the show blends acrobatics, music and visual design inspired by Peru’s pre‑Hispanic cultures (Paracas, Nazca, Mochica, Chimú, Inca). International artists from Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Russia, Hungary, Nicaragua and Brazil will perform under a high‑tech tent.
The 30th International Book Fair of Lima (FIL) is scheduled for 22 July to 6 August 2026 at the Jockey Center in the Surco district, after moving from the Parque Próceres venue where it had been held for 16 years. The fair will feature more than 600 activities, 65 international guests, 76 publishers and a cultural delegation from Ecuador. Organisers acknowledge accessibility challenges at the new site and plan shuttle buses from the nearby Jockey Plaza.
