Citizens in Lima can now access a 90% discount on traffic fines following the approval of Municipal Ordinance No. 2849-2026-MML by the Metropolitan Council of Lima. The measure aligns local procedures with guidelines from the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The Lima Tax Administration Service (SAT) has completed the necessary technological adjustments to implement the system. Drivers can settle outstanding fines through the official SAT web portal, online banking, or affiliated digital financial applications. The local executive branch aims to incentivize the timely cancellation of pending debts through this exceptional payment regime.
