Lima, Peru faces scheduled water service interruptions July 25‑27

The water utility Sedapal announced planned interruptions of the potable water supply in several districts of Lima on Saturday, 25 July, and again on 27 July. The cuts are part of routine maintenance to clean water‑reservoirs and improve the distribution system.

Affected neighborhoods include sectors such as Los Álamos, Las Lomas, El Mirador del Paraíso II, Villa del Paraíso, Virgen de Guadalupe, and other portions of the Paraíso area, as well as zones in Caraponguillo and Urbanización Mayorazgo. In the July 25 shutdown, service will be suspended for specific time windows (e.g., 1:00 pm‑11:50 pm, 11:00 am‑11:00 pm) depending on the district.

Sedapal urged residents to store only the water needed in clean, covered containers, to prioritize drinking and personal hygiene, and to avoid high‑water‑use activities such as vehicle washing. In the most affected areas, water trucks will be deployed to distribute water. The utility asked the public to stay informed through its official channels for updates and instructions.
