Lima to Host The World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2026
Lima will host the gala ceremony of The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2026 on 4 November, marking the first time the prestigious culinary event is held in Peru and in South America. Promperú executive Michael Guevara Varela said the event will showcase Peruvian cuisine to a global audience of chefs, critics and journalists and is expected to raise the country's profile in the international food scene.
The program includes the #50BestTalks forum, collaborative signature sessions, and the traditional Chefs’ Feast featuring native ingredients. Organisers anticipate a direct economic boost for hotels, transport, restaurants and local commerce, citing past host cities such as Rio de Janeiro, which generated roughly $40.8 million in advertising value.
In preparation, Promperú will run the Peru Mucho Gusto food fair in Tacna, Lima, and Ayacucho during July, October and December to further promote regional economies and the tourism value chain.
