Lima to restore historic Capilla del Milagro

The historic Capilla del Milagro in Lima, located adjacent to the San Francisco Convent, is set for a comprehensive restoration. This project follows a formal agreement between the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima and the Franciscan Province of the XII Apostles of Peru.

The Municipal Program for the Recovery of the Historic Center of Lima (PROLIMA) will conduct a full diagnostic of the building to create the necessary technical files for the works. The planned intervention is intended to be holistic, addressing the structure, facade, and interior to recover original historical values and restore lost elements.

Key aspects of the restoration include the recovery of liturgical ornaments, artworks, and the renovation of the chapel’s lighting system. The project will be funded by municipal resources once the technical phase is complete.
