Limak Holding celebrates 50th anniversary in Istanbul
Limak Holding marked its 50th anniversary with a ceremony at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) in Istanbul. Founded in 1976 by Nihat Özdemir and Sezai Bacaksız, the group has expanded into a multi-sector conglomerate operating in 14 countries across three continents, employing nearly 50,000 people.
The event featured an art exhibition by Melis Binay titled ‘Geleceğe Açılan Kapılar’, which utilized historic wooden doors from Barcelona to showcase Limak’s infrastructure projects. A documentary detailing the company’s history since 1976 was also screened.
During a panel moderated by Jülide Ateş, company founders and second-generation executives discussed future strategies. Nihat Özdemir emphasized the importance of corporate culture and employee labor, while Board Chair Ebru Özdemir highlighted the company’s focus on digital transformation, sustainability, and increasing the role of women in engineering and business.
