Limanowa residents initiate referendum to remove mayor and council

In Limanowa, a movement to hold a referendum to remove Mayor Jolanta Juszkiewicz and the city council is underway. The initiative has sparked local debate regarding the methods used to collect signatures.

Residents have raised concerns about data privacy and the security of sensitive information, such as PESEL numbers, during door-to-door collection efforts. In response, organizers including former council members Piotr Musiał and Wiesław Sędzik have defended the process. They stated that door-to-door visits are necessary for residents with mobility issues and emphasized that data is protected and that collectors use covers to shield previously signed information.
