Limassol attack: Turkish Cypriot youth severely injured in assault

A 22-year-old Turkish Cypriot man was severely assaulted by a group of Greek Cypriots in Limassol, Cyprus. According to reports from Greek Cypriot media, the victim was beaten and his heels were cut with a knife.

The incident occurred on Friday, October 16, in the victim's neighborhood. Following the attack, the young man underwent several hours of surgery and has since been discharged from the hospital to recover at home.

Limassol police have launched an investigation into the matter, with initial findings suggesting that four individuals may have been involved. While the official complaint was not filed until Monday, October 19, police had previously received a report of the incident via telephone.

Preliminary reports suggest the motive for the attack may be linked to recent thefts of hunting dogs in the area. It is alleged that the attackers believed the victim or those in his community possessed information regarding these thefts.
