Limassol murder trial begins for six defendants

The trial has commenced for six defendants accused of the premeditated murder of 49-year-old businessman Stavros Dimosthenous, who was killed in Limassol on October 17, 2025. The six individuals—two 30-year-olds, one 31-year-old, one 51-year-old, and two 28-year-olds—have pleaded not guilty to 15 charges.

The charges include premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, vehicle arson, illegal possession and use of firearms and explosives, and vehicle theft.

According to the investigation, the roles of the accused vary: one 28-year-old is alleged to be the executioner, while another 28-year-old reportedly assisted the perpetrators' escape. A 31-year-old is accused of driving the van from which the shots were fired, and a 51-year-old's DNA was reportedly found in a vehicle used to follow the victim. Other defendants are linked to the purchase of a motorcycle used during the escape and the procurement of forged license plates.
