Limeira bus fire leaves passengers seeking compensation for lost belongings

Passengers of a bus traveling from Jales to São Paulo are seeking compensation after the vehicle caught fire on the Anhanguera Highway (SP-330) in Limeira, São Paulo. The fire was triggered by a mechanical failure during the early hours of Monday.

The driver managed to pull the vehicle onto the shoulder, allowing all passengers to disembark safely before the flames spread. However, the sudden evacuation prevented several passengers from retrieving their luggage. Reported losses include work notebooks, personal items, and other belongings, with one passenger estimating losses at approximately R$ 10,000.

Buser, the platform responsible for ticket sales, stated it is monitoring the situation. The company noted that the bus belongs to a partner company and confirmed that it coordinated with the carrier to provide a van and another bus to ensure passengers could continue their journey.
