Limeira celebrates 200 years with public festivities

The city of Limeira is celebrating its 200th anniversary with a series of commemorative events and public tributes. To mark the bicentennial, a celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, at Parque Cidade. The event features a musical program starting at 12:00, including performances by Banda Pop Kids and local artists showcasing dance and poetry. The festivities will conclude with a headline performance by Brazilian singer Elba Ramalho at 18:00. Due to rain forecasts, the venue was moved from Horto Florestal to Parque Cidade as a preventive measure.

In addition to the festivities, the Fundo Social is organizing a voluntary food drive during the event, encouraging attendees to donate non-perishable food or milk to support local social assistance entities.

Local councilwoman Tatiane Lopes also issued a tribute to the municipality, highlighting its two centuries of history and development. She emphasized the importance of evolving municipal policies, specifically noting advancements in animal protection, veterinary services, and public health initiatives as key components of the city's progress.
