Limeira police dismantle major crack‑cocaine supply operation

Police from the Civil Police’s Drug Investigation Division (DISE) raided a house in the Jardim Ouro Verde district of Limeira, São Paulo, on Thursday, arresting a 27‑year‑old man identified as the key logistics operator for local drug distribution. Investigators seized 928 portions of cocaine, 295 portions of crack, 1.4 kg of uncut crack, 91 portions of marijuana, R$ 6,500 in cash, a motorcycle used for deliveries, as well as precision scales, sieves, pots and knives used to process and package the substances.

Deputy Leonardo Burger warned that many users believe they are inhaling cocaine, when the drug is actually crack mixed with anesthetics, veterinary medicines and other chemicals to alter its appearance and effects. He said, “O que nós temos observado é que eles não estão usando cocaína, eles usam o crack… grande parte dos usuários estão usando o crack no lugar da cocaína.” The seized materials will be used to trace further participants in the trafficking network.
