Limeira police recover stolen vehicle and arrest suspect

Police in Limeira, São Paulo, recovered a stolen 2024 silver Volkswagen T-Cross TSI during a patrol in the Ernesto Kühl neighborhood early Sunday morning. Officers observed the vehicle traveling at high speeds and disregarding a mandatory stop sign.

After failing to comply with police orders to stop, the driver led officers on a pursuit through the neighborhood, eventually colliding with a commercial establishment wall in the Vila Santa Rosália region. The crash resulted in material damage but no injuries.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered discrepancies in the vehicle's identification signals. A chassis check confirmed the car had been reported stolen in Limeira on July 7, 2026. A suspect was detained and taken into custody for suspected crimes of receiving stolen goods and tampering with vehicle identification signals.
