Limetax secures 36 million euros for AI-driven tax consulting group
Berlin-based tech startup Limetax has secured 36 million euros to build a nationwide group of digital tax consulting firms. The funding consists of a 6 million euro pre-seed equity round led by Motive Partners, with participation from Activant, Heliad, and several angel investors including former German Finance Minister Christian Lindner, Alexander Kudlich, and the founders of Moss.
In addition to the equity, a consortium of German banks has provided a 30 million euro credit line. Limetax aims to differentiate itself from traditional tax-tech startups by partnering directly with existing tax firms and integrating its proprietary AI platform into their workflows. The platform utilizes specialized AI agents to handle routine tasks such as accounting, financial statements, and payroll.
Since its founding in January 2026, the company has grown to include four firms with seven locations and approximately 150 employees. Limetax reports that its annualized revenue is already in the double-digit millions.
