Limoneira to sell California vineyard for $15 million

Limoneira Company has reached a provisional agreement to sell Windfall Farms, a 724-acre vineyard in Paso Robles, California, for $15 million in cash. The sale follows a competitive public auction that began on August 5. The transaction is expected to close on September 14, 2026, pending customary conditions.

The divestment is part of a broader strategy to monetize non-strategic assets, reduce debt, and strengthen the company's balance sheet. Limoneira intends to use a portion of the proceeds to fund the expansion of its avocado acreage.

The company has faced significant financial challenges due to a long-term decline in lemon prices. As of December 2025, Limoneira's stock value had dropped by 49%. Financial reports indicate a revenue loss of over $16 million in Q3 2025 and a year-on-year revenue decrease of $34.3 million in Q1 2026.
