Limpurb carries out almost 32,000 public lighting interventions in Cuiabá, 2026 H1

The municipal service company Empresa Cuiabana de Zeladoria e Serviços Urbanos (Limpurb) performed 31,795 interventions on Cuiabá's public lighting network during the first half of 2026. This included 17,281 maintenance actions and the installation of 14,514 new LED luminaires across 232 neighborhoods as part of the Programa Ilumina+ Cuiabá, a joint effort with the Government of the State of Mato Grosso under the MT Iluminado program.

Monthly activity increased throughout the period, with the highest output in June when 3,747 maintenance services and 4,194 LED fixtures were installed. Director‑general Felipe Wellaton said the work supports the city’s ongoing plan to improve energy efficiency, road safety and overall illumination, and noted that residents can request services via the free Cuiabá Smart app.
