Lin Dai-hua indicted for alleged 13.79 million TWD political donation embezzlement

The Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office has issued additional indictments against Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislator Lin Dai-hua and her brother, Lin Dai-rong, for allegedly embezzling approximately 13.79 million TWD in political donations.

Prosecutors claim the group used companies under their control, such as Maosheng and Rongwei, to issue fraudulent invoices. These were then reported to the Control Yuan as legitimate campaign expenditures for Lin’s 10th and 11th legislative elections. Investigations revealed that the funds were diverted for purposes unrelated to campaigning, including paying taxes for various professional firms and non-profit associations, as well as creating a ‘slush fund’ for personal use.

This case follows a previous indictment against Lin for allegedly defrauding 14.96 million TWD in assistant fees. Lin Dai-hua has denied the allegations, stating she has no motive for embezzlement and that her brother handled the political donation reporting processes following their father's death. She expressed her intention to defend her innocence in court.
