Lin Shaye discusses returning to the Insidious franchise

Actress Lin Shaye has shared her motivations for returning to the 'Insidious' horror franchise as the character Elise Rainier. In recent interviews promoting 'Insidious: Out of the Further', the 82-year-old veteran actress stated that her decision is driven by the opportunity to discover new layers of her character rather than financial incentives.

Shaye recalled the origins of her involvement with the series, noting that directors Leigh Whannell and James Wan originally approached her with the script during a dinner at her home. She reflected on the unexpected connection audiences formed with Elise Rainier, a character she initially did not view as a heroine, following the success of the original film.

The upcoming sixth installment, 'Insidious: Out of the Further', features a story centered on a young mother named Gemma who discovers she can enter 'The Further' and inadvertently bring demons into the real world.
