Lin Ting-chien leaves Tianjin Ronggang to join Taipei Taishin Warriors

Taiwanese point guard Lin Ting-chien, who entered the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) in 2020 as a top draft pick for Tianjin Ronggang, has confirmed his departure from the Chinese club. Tianjin announced that, despite offering a league‑compliant top‑salary contract to retain him, the team respects his career plan and wishes him success.

Lin, 24, averaged 19.2 points, 5.2 assists and 1.5 steals last season, earned a CBA All‑Star selection and second‑team honors. He will return to Taiwan to sign with the TPBL franchise Taipei Taishin Warriors, which reportedly offered a high‑value contract to bolster its roster.

The move marks a significant shift for the player, who spent six seasons developing as a core backcourt figure in Tianjin, and adds a marquee talent to the Taiwanese professional league.
