Lin Yi-fan wins Taiwan’s first Asian Games skateboarding medal
Lin Yi-fan, a 14-year-old skateboarder from Taiwan, won the silver medal in the women’s park skateboarding event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. This achievement marks the first-ever Asian Games skateboarding medal for Taiwan and makes Lin the youngest medalist in the nation’s history at the games.
During the finals, Lin secured a high score of 85.15 on her first run, briefly holding the top position. She ultimately finished second behind Japan’s Mizuho Hasegawa, who took gold with a score of 94.03. Japan’s Miyu Okamoto earned the bronze medal.
Lin’s journey to the podium included a resilient qualifying round where she overcame errors in her first two attempts to secure second place in her heat with a score of 78.53. Her performance follows three years of intensive training and specialized coaching under Japanese instructor Ken Do Sasaoka.
