Lina Dambrauskaitė to star in Handel’s ‘Julius Caesar’ opera premiere

The Klaipėda State Musical Theatre is presenting the premiere of Friedrich Handel’s opera ‘Julius Caesar’ on October 9, 10, and 13. Soloist Lina Dambrauskaitė, a recipient of the ‘Golden Stage Cross,’ performs the role of Cleopatra.

Dambrauskaitė describes her interpretation of the character as a young, intelligent, and ambitious ruler navigating complex political instability rather than the idealized ‘femme fatale’ often depicted in history. She aims to portray Cleopatra as a leader using intellect, charm, and rhetoric to protect her country, highlighting the human struggle between political power and personal loss.
