Lina investigation reveals new details on final hours
New details have emerged regarding the investigation into the death of 15-year-old Lina, who was abducted on September 23, 2023, in Alsace, France. Forensic evidence indicates that the teenager was still alive approximately two hours after her abduction while walking in Saulx (Haute-Saône), as soil particles found under her sneakers matched the location where the suspect's vehicle made its second stop.
Investigators determined that Lina was taken in a grey Ford Puma belonging to 43-year-old Samuel Gonin. DNA analysis from the vehicle's rear seat confirmed she had occupied the back seat. Evidence suggests she was bound with ropes found in the vehicle's trunk and died by strangulation using a tote bag strap. Her body was later discovered in a stream in the Morvan region on October 16, 2024.
Samuel Gonin committed suicide in Besançon on July 10, prior to being questioned by investigators, leaving many questions regarding the circumstances of the crime unanswered.
