Greek Culture Minister Lina Mendoni is conducting a series of inspections and inaugurations of restoration projects across the regions of Kavala and Florina.

In Kavala, Mendoni is scheduled to visit the archaeological site of Philippi on September 1, 2026, to inaugurate new fire protection infrastructure and the first phase of restoration for Basilica B. Additionally, she will visit the Gate 12 cultural space to deliver completed restoration works on the fortification of the lower town, including Gate A, the triangular tower, and the postern. The visit will also include a presentation of the digitization program for the collections of the Center for Cappadocian Studies.

In Florina, Mendoni completed a two-day inspection of local monuments. She announced plans to accelerate the Ministry of Culture's acquisition of the 'Di国际es' neoclassical hotel to facilitate its restoration. Regarding the Ottoman bath, the Minister requested that all necessary studies and documentation be submitted to the Ministry by the end of September, with the goal of beginning restoration works in the spring of 2027 under a self-managed regime. She also addressed the preservation of the minaret, the sole remaining element of the Tarsi Mosque.
