Linafoot suspends participation fees and player qualifications while FECOFA freezes promotions and relegations

On 1 August 2026 the management committee of the Ligue Nationale de Football (Linafoot) announced a provisional suspension of several administrative procedures for the upcoming 2026‑2027 season. The suspension covers club participation fees, player qualification processes and the issuance of administrative documents such as registration forms. The decision, signed by National Secretary Séverin Walisinga in Kinshasa, is intended to allow the committee to consider appropriate resolutions, with an urgent meeting to be held in the coming days.

On 31 July 2026 the Fédération Congolaise de Football Association (FECOFA) intervened in a dispute over relegations and promotions. In a statement signed by General Secretary Liliane Tshimpumpu, FECOFA ordered Linafoot to halt any decisions on relegations, promotions and the final league table until the federation can review the process. The federation also instructed the reinstatement of FC MK in the final standings despite a points deduction, pending further review.
