Lince cooking workshop destroyed by fire in Lima

A large fire destroyed a building used as a cooking workshop in the Lince district of Lima on Monday night. The incident occurred at a property located near the intersection of Avenida General César Canevaro and Jirón Garcilaso de la Vega.

Firefighters from the Cuerpo General de Bomberos Voluntarios del Perú deployed between 14 and 16 units to combat the blaze. According to Commander General Juan Carlos Morales Carpio, the fire appears to have started in the basement. Emergency crews faced significant risks due to the presence of kitchen utensils and 21 gas cylinders found inside the premises.

Neighbors reported that the facility was used daily to prepare meals for distribution throughout the city. While the fire caused extensive damage, leaving the property uninhabitable, authorities confirmed there were no injuries or fatalities. The upper floors of the building were reportedly used as offices or residences.
