Lincoln, Argentina trichinosis outbreak affects 25 people

Health authorities in Lincoln, Buenos Aires Province have confirmed 25 cases of trichinosis. All infected individuals consumed raw pork products purchased from the same local butcher shop on Plaza España. Five cases have been laboratory‑confirmed, while the others show compatible symptoms and a shared exposure history.

The municipal health secretariat, led by Jorge González, said the source of the contaminated pork has not yet been identified. Earlier, officials seized a large quantity of pork and cured meats from the shop on Avenida Maipú 598 and ordered its closure. Residents who ate suspect pork and develop symptoms are advised to seek immediate medical attention.
