Lincoln Electric and ITT Inc. report industrial trends and growth
Lincoln Electric is reporting an increase in industrial demand, particularly within its consumables and automation segments. Executive Vice President and CFO Gabriel Bruno noted that while the automotive sector remains a weak end market due to uncertainties regarding electric and internal-combustion vehicle transitions, automation investment is growing across general, heavy, and structural fabrication industries.
Consumable volumes in the Americas Welding segment rose by mid-single digits in the second quarter, which the company views as a sign of steady industrial activity. Lincoln Electric is also preparing to debut physical AI technology at the upcoming FABTECH event.
Separately, ITT Inc. reported that its revenue has exceeded $5 billion following the acquisition of SPX FLOW. CEO Luca Savi described the company as a diversified engineering firm that designs and manufactures components for harsh environments across sectors including rail, defense, energy transition, and mining.
