Lincoln Mayor Serenal criticizes medication shortages

Salvador Serenal, the mayor of Lincoln, has criticized the inefficiency of national and provincial programs designed to provide free medication. He warned that the current situation is placing significant pressure on the municipal health system.

Serenal noted that increased demand at local hospitals is driven by economic factors, the loss of private health insurance coverage, and declining incomes. He specifically pointed to failures in the national 'Remediar' program and the provincial 'Medicamentos Bonaerenses' program, stating they are not delivering the necessary quantities of medicine in a timely manner.

The mayor raised questions regarding whether municipalities should be forced to use their own resources to cover costs that should be handled by national or provincial government funds.
