Lincoln, Nebraska Man Severely Injured in Accidental Self‑Shot During Gun Tutorial

On Thursday, July 30, a 21‑year‑old man in Lincoln, Nebraska, purchased a 9 mm pistol and began filming an instructional video with his girlfriend recording. While demonstrating how to rack the slide, the firearm discharged unintentionally, striking his left leg and severing the femoral artery. A witness said, "I looked over and the two doors on the left side of the car were open and there was a big pile of blood beside the driver's car door."

First responders applied a tourniquet, stopped the bleeding, and transported him to a hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He remains in serious but stable condition. Police have not announced any charges and the incident remains under investigation.
