Crystal Lake prequel series trailer released by Peacock and A24

The official trailer and promotional materials for ‘Crystal Lake’, the upcoming ‘Friday the 13th’ prequel series, have been released. Produced by A24 and streaming on Peacock, the eight-episode series is scheduled to premiere on October 15, 2026.

Set in 1971, the series explores the origins of the franchise by focusing on Pamela Voorhees, portrayed by Linda Cardellini. The narrative follows Pam as she grapples with the grief of losing her young, sickly son, Jason, who drowned in the local lake nearly a year prior. The plot is set in motion when two strangers arrive in town and begin investigating her past, leading to a series of unsettling events.

Showrunner and creator Brad Caleb Kane, known for his work on ‘It: Welcome to Derry’, leads the production. The cast includes Callum Vinson as young Jason, alongside William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. Promotional imagery has also highlighted costume details, such as the iconic blue cable-knit sweater worn by the character in the original 1980 film.
