Linda Cardellini teases ‘Crystal Lake’ horror prequel

Linda Cardellini is set to star in ‘Crystal Lake’, an upcoming eight-episode prequel series to the ‘Friday the 13th’ franchise. Premiering October 15 on Peacock, the series explores the backstory of the franchise antagonist Pamela Voorhees, portrayed by Cardellini, prior to the events of the original 1980 film.

Cardellini described the production as featuring significant gore and practical effects, noting that some scenes were so visceral they involved ‘blood everywhere’. The actress expressed enthusiasm for playing a character on the opposite side of the traditional horror trope, stating it was ‘fun this time to be on the other side of the knife’ rather than playing a victim being chased.

The series also features William Catlett as Levon Brooks, though specific details regarding his character remain undisclosed.
