Linda Chung responds to ‘workplace curse’ backlash over concert blessing

Hong Kong actress Linda Chung has addressed the backlash following her recent concert where she gifted the character ‘busy’ (忙) to fans as a blessing. Chung explained that her intention was to convey positive energy, stating that being busy is a sign of being alive and a blessing. However, the sentiment sparked significant online criticism from workers who labeled the message a ‘workplace curse’ and criticized her for being out of touch with reality.

Chung remarked that she found the situation humorous and expressed regret if her words caused discomfort. She noted that the controversy has unexpectedly evolved into a trend, with various brands mimicking her approach by gifting single-character blessings.

During a charity basketball event at Happy Valley, Chung also commented on recent discussions regarding cinema etiquette involving children. She shared her personal rule of waiting until children are at least four years old before taking them to movie theaters to ensure they can follow social norms.
